EDITH partners meet in Leuven, Belgium, to define the vision of the project

The first high-level partner meeting of the EDITH-CSA (European Virtual Human Twin in Healthcare – Coordination and Support Action) Consortium took place in Leuven, Belgium on 29-30 November 2022.

The meeting was dedicated to take the first important steps toward a common and shared strategy by the Consortium, focusing on the creation of a suitable ecosystem for the use of a fully integrated Virtual Human Twin (VHT) in Healthcare in Europe.

Presentations included the outline of the vision for the VHT, the steps to turning that vision into a roadmap, with discussions on structures and responsibilities, as well as legal, ethical and regulatory compliance, both at European and national level, with analysis of the current legal and ethical framework.

We just had a lively EDITH consortium meeting in Leuven, – said Liesbet Geris, Professor in Biomechanics and Computational Tissue Engineering at the university of Liège and KU Leuven and Director of the VPH Institute who coordinates the CSA – we are taking significant steps forward in defining the vision of the integrated Virtual Human Twin, developing the ecosystem and defining key elements for the practical implementation of related technologies.
